Ji Won Kim
Over the last few years Ji Won has established a career as soloist, chamber musician and regular soloist with the major symphony orchestras in Australia. Internationally she has worked in Sweden in 2013 as the 3rd concertmaster with Gothenburg Symphony during Dudamel’s tenure as the chief conductor. She also played a leading role with the Malaysian Philharmonic, Melbourne, Adelaide, Tasmania and West Australian symphony orchestras. Ji Won has won many prizes and accolades. In Australia she has won the ABC Young Performers Award, SBS Matthew Krel Prize and the Australian Concerto and Vocal competition. In Europe she was awarded first prize at the International Johannes Brahms Competition in Austria as well as second prizes at the Lisbon International and Bled International Violin Competitions. Highlights of her career include two sold out concerts at the Sydney Opera House with the Sydney Symphony, three performances with Sir Andrew Davies and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
